15. What is an “uncensored” model?

“Uncensored” is an informal label, often describing models with fewer refusal behaviors or different alignment data. It does not guarantee neutrality, accuracy, freedom from bias, or responsible behavior, and it is not a standardized technical certification.

Such models can still hallucinate, expose memorized information, or generate harmful material. Evaluate the actual checkpoint and retain application-level safeguards rather than treating the label as permission to remove safety controls.
